I have been waiting to watch this movie for quite some time now...

This movie shows an account of a family caught, with tens of thousands of strangers, in the mayhem of one of the worst natural catastrophes of our time, the 2004 tsunami which killed over 230,000 people on Boxing Day (December 26).

The film opens with the Bennett family flying to Thailand for their winter break. Henry (McGregor) and Maria (Watts) and their three children get to their idyllic and remote Thai resort to find out that a mistake in their hotel bookings has resulted in them being upgraded from suite on a higher floor to a more luxurious, ocean-front villa. The everyday family goes about their vacation doing touristy things and enjoying each others’ company in tender moments of extreme authenticity that sets the groundwork for the challenges they face in the coming days.

As they are relaxing by the pool the day after Christmas, disaster strikes wiping the Bennetts along with many others under huge waves. While Maria and her eldest son Lucas (Holland) manage to find each other, Henry struggles to reunite his family or whatever he thinks might be left of it. The Impossible is a tale of the triumph of the human spirit and familial values in the face of tremendous physical and psychological hardship and this is where it shines. - The Impossible Review

Will you watch this movie too?
