Sometimes I get to thinking how different my life is right now compared to how I envision it when I was younger. Before I enrolled in the university, my goal was really either to become a doctor or a lawyer or an engineer. The tides changed pretty much when my parents asked (read: insisted) for me to enroll in an accounting course. I did succumb to their wishes but vowed to myself that after I graduate I would follow my heart and do what I want. I did just so...
I consider myself successful (kind of). I am extremely happy with my married life, with my corporate life, and the other lives I lead. I also firmly believe that no matter what happens, no matter how far I am to where I want to be, I will still be successful if I put the right amount of passion and the right blend of attitude in the process. Every road we trod has a purpose and I would forever chase that purpose.
There may be failures along the way but I don't let it get me down. Life is too short to wallow in negative things and to attend to pity parties. I celebrate both success and failure. I also make it a point to always work for a cause and not for some applause.
If you are given the chance to follow your passion and do something that really and truly matters to you, what would you take the plunge?
