Ahhhh, tomatoes. That good old red, orange, green or yellow produce that's a staple in the kitchen. The tomato is a fruit and not a vegetable. I use it for cooking, for dips, for sauces among others. Oh, it's good in treating burns too. It is very rich in lycopene which is known to be a very good phytochemical and is a very good source of antioxidants. So yeah, I try to consume as much tomato as part of my diet as I can.
Anyway, I have read quite a few reviews and raves about this new product from Tony Moly. Yes, I am referring to the Tomatox Magic White Massage Pack. The packaging has this description: Tony Moly Tomatox Magic White Massage Pack contains water and tomato ingredients. It promises to bring instant dual magic brightening and vitalizing and detoxifying effects into the skin.
This product costs Php548 (around US$12.75). Each product comes with a box and a tomato-shaped container (80 grams). If you go to a Tony Moly counter and you see a tomato-shaped container then it's safe to say that you have the product I am talking about right now. This Korean product has been the talk of the town for a few months now and I thought it would not hurt to try it. Did I say the packaging is ubercute?
This post is not a review yet because I just tested it at the back of my hands I think it is always wise to do a spot test before full-on application to the face. After all, an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. If you have sensitive skin, please try it on a small patch of your skin first to prevent any unwanted bumps and itch on your skin. It is also good to note that this product is very rich. I only applied a pea-sized amount on my hand and the coverage was impressive.
Directions For Use:
After cleansing your face, make sure to towel dry your skin. Take an adequate amount and slather it all over your face in a massaging motion for 1-2 minutes. After the application, leave it on your skin for 5-10 minutes like a mask. Wash with tepid water. Pat dry your face and observe the change and glow.
With this patch test I made, I immediately felt that my skin felt more supple. However, I did not notice any difference in the brightness. I felt like it hydrated my skin too. I am stoked though that I did not have any irritation whatsoever. I will try this for the first time tomorrow before bedtime and I will write another post as review as soon as I see any considerable result. By the way, this 80gram product will last you for a long time as you only need to use it 2-3 times every week.
Have you tried this product? Please share your thoughts...
P.S.
While we're at the topic of tomatoes, let me share to you that I have bought a couple of boxes of the infamous tomato pill from Mannings when I went to Hong Kong. I will try using it and I will report back if it's any good.
